Tax Appeal Program Posted

United Way of Chester County, along with its partners, will be hold outdoor events to promote its Mobile Home Tax Reassessment Program. Partnering with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, LCH Health and Community Services and local food pantries, the Mobile Home Tax Reassessment program aids mobile home owners in Chester County by offering them assistance with filing property tax reassessment appeals.

Events will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, June 14 and July 19, at the Oxford Library, 48 S. Second St., Oxford. Honey Brook Food Pantry, 5064 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, will host an event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, and Nottingham Manor, 480 W. Christine Road, Nottingham, will host an event from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28. An event will also be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Phoenixville Library, 183 Second Ave., Phoenixville.

To be considered for the 2022 reassessments, call United Way of Chester County at 610-429-9400 to make an appointment or visit http://www.unitedformobilehomes.com and fill out the 2022 Reassessment Form.

The deadline to apply for this program is Thursday, July 21. United Way of Chester County and its partners will do all the work and pay the fees on behalf of the homeowners in the program.

Once the form is complete, United Way of Chester County will contact the client to schedule an intake appointment with a representative from Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania. A paralegal will complete the forms and will contact the client for his or her signature. A volunteer from United Way of Chester County will take photos of the home for documentation. All forms will be submitted by Monday, Aug. 1, to the County Reassessment Office. Clients will be notified of the results of their reassessment appeals in October.
