Sheller Appointed Warden of Chester County Prison

The Chester County Prison Board appointed Brian Sheller as the new warden of Chester County Prison. The appointment was made during the board's Aug. 19 meeting.

Sheller most recently served as acting warden after the previous warden, Howard Holland, was promoted to deputy county administrator in March. Sheller had served as deputy warden since February 2024.

Prior to holding that post, Sheller served for 36 years with the Parkesburg Borough Police Department, including more than 30 years as chief. In that role, he developed Parkesburg's contract policing model, which continues to provide full-service police coverage for several surrounding municipalities.

During his law enforcement career, Sheller has served as the president of the Chester County Police Chiefs Association, an instructor at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus and the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy, and the commander of the Chester County Major Incident Response Team, among other leadership roles. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
