Parade of Homes to offer in-person and virtual touring

The Building Industry Association of Lancaster County (BIA) has announced the annual virtual and in-person Parade of Homes, beginning on Saturday, June 17.

Sponsored by Fulton Bank and UGI Utilities and presented by the BIA, the Lancaster/Lebanon Parade of Homes is a free public event that opens new homes for touring both in person and virtually. This year's Parade features 20 single-family homes and townhome/duplexes from 12 builders, ranging in price from $369,990 to $1 million. Community members may visit 19 of the 20 homes in person and all of the homes virtually utilizing 3D technology, which provides a room-by-room view of each home.

New this year, the BIA is holding a giveaway drawing for the chance to win money toward a renovation or toward the purchase of a newly constructed home, completed by a BIA member. For complete details, visit http://www.lancasterbuilders.org. The website also includes a downloadable ticket request form. Per Pennsylvania law, tickets must be purchased with cash or a check. Tickets will also be available at some stops on the Parade of Homes tour; check http://www.lancasterbuilders.org for details.

Detailed information on all of the home entries is available at http://www.lancasterparadeofhomes.com.

The Parade of Homes App is an additional feature. This is a tool for home details, directions, and customizable routes. Readers may search for "BIA Parade of Homes" in their app store, download the free app, and select the Lancaster/Lebanon Parade of Homes. Parade of Homes Guidebooks with the same information are available at the BIA office, 204 Butler Ave., Lancaster, and Fulton Bank branches, and copies of the book were mailed to over 100,000 Lancaster and Lebanon County households.

The Parade homes are judged by a panel of building and industry experts, with awards presented at the annual Parade of Homes Gala; this year's event will take place on Friday, June 16. Homes are classified into divisions by price and judged with other homes in the same price division using a numerical scoring system, with awards for Best of Show, Kitchen, Bath, Interior Design, Exterior, Decorated, and Landscaping. The top-scoring single-family and townhome/duplex homes each receive the Fulton Bank Award, the highest honor in local homebuilding. Winners will be published on the Parade of Homes website beginning on June 17.
