Emergencies Services Provider Receives Donation

Blue Rock Fire Rescue recently announced that Slaymaker Rentals and Slaymaker Electric Motor & Supply Co. donated to Answering the Call: The Blue Rock Firehouse Project. The project is a $10 million capital campaign to build a modern, consolidated firehouse serving Manor Township, Millersville Borough, and the surrounding Lancaster County community.

The $25,000 contribution from the Slaymaker companies will help advance plans to construct a new firehouse on the western edge of the fire rescue company's service area. The new facility will replace and consolidate aging stations, providing more than 100 volunteer firefighters with the space, equipment, and infrastructure needed to respond safely and efficiently to emergencies. The new facility is designed to enhance training, improve response times, and support long-term volunteer recruitment and retention, ensuring the district is prepared to meet growing demands for service.

Blue Rock Fire Rescue responds to more than 800 calls annually across 55 square miles of diverse terrain, including 6 miles of the Susquehanna River. Volunteers answer calls at all hours, leaving their homes, jobs, and families to serve the community.
