Library Posts Summer Activities

Lititz Public Library has posted its summer 2021 activities, including the Summer Reading Programs for children and adults.

The Children's Summer Reading Program has been planned. Children may pick up forms or sign up on Beanstack starting Saturday, June 5. They should return their completed forms or finish the program on Beanstack by Saturday, Aug. 14. Prizes will be available starting on Monday, June 21. The program's theme is "Tails and Tales."

Registration is required for some events; please call the library no more than two weeks in advance of each event. Links to prerecorded programs will be available at http://www.lititzlibrary.org. To sign up for live programs, visit the aforementioned website or call 717-626-2255.

Bravura Brass will present an interactive music program for people of all ages in the library's backyard on Thursday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. The show will be based on the "Tails and Tales" theme.

A link to a prerecorded Magic With Ran'D Shine video will be available for one day, on June 21. In this 20-minute program, magician Ran'D Shine performs magic tricks and teaches viewers some tricks that they can do with household items.

A Bat Tale will be available to watch June 21 to Monday, June 28. After reading the story "Stellaluna," participants will learn how the title character is different from the bats that live in Pennsylvania. The program was prerecorded.

Tails and Tales Dance Party! Turtle Dance, a prerecorded interactive program, will be available to watch from Tuesday, July 6, to Saturday, Aug. 21.

Ukelele One Man Band, featuring local singer-songwriter Phredd, may be viewed from Monday, July 12, to Saturday, Aug. 14.

Jeff Boyer's Big Bubble Bonanza will be presented on Wednesday, July 14, at 10 a.m. Suitable for people of all ages, the program will feature world record-holder and bubble wrangler Jeff Boyer. The program will take place outside, and attendees should bring a blanket or chair.

Family Stages will present "Anansi the Trickster," geared for people age 5 and up, on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. The program will take place outside, and attendees should bring a blanket or chair.

ZooAmerica Tales of Tails will be livestreamed on Wednesday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m. Viewers of all ages are invited to explore several books and meet some of the animals starring in these stories.

The Adult Summer Reading Program will be summer book bingo. Participants will read books from Saturday, June 5, through Wednesday, Sept. 1, to complete a bingo card and return the card to the library for a chance to win prizes. Cards can be obtained by stopping by the library or visiting the aforementioned website.

Several programs will be offered for adults this summer.

Yoga with Joyce Courtney in the Backyard will take place every Monday at 9 a.m. from June 7 through Aug. 16, except July 5. Participants should bring their own mat and water bottle and socially distance outside with others. The group will move into the community room in the case of inclement weather.

A Journaling for Life Virtual Program has been slated for Thursday, June 24, at 7 p.m. Preregistration is required for this Zoom program by calling the aforementioned number or emailing register@lititzlibrary.org.

Philadelphia: A Revolutionary City Virtual Program with the Museum of the American Revolution will take place on Thursday, July 8, at 7 p.m. Viewers will follow one artifact - a punchbowl uncovered in an archaeological dig on the site of the Museum of the American Revolution - on a virtual tour of 18th-century Philadelphia.
