Library Slates Programs

The Village Library of Morgantown, 207 N. Walnut St., has posted its upcoming programs. Additional information is available by calling 610-286-1022 or emailing smolibrary@gmail.com.

The library will be closed for staff development on Friday, May 15.

MCC Stitches will take place on Saturday, May 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. People of all ages and levels of fiber arts experience are welcome to participate. Attendees will create items to donate. Supplies will be provided, and instruction will be available in crocheting, knitting, and using a loom. The program will also include fellowship and prayer.

A program in the Write-In Series will be held on May 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. Local author Alissa Butterworth will lead the group, which is open to people of all ages who write in any genre and have any level of experience with writing. The May theme is "Flight."

The library will host "Substance Use Prevention Resources and Education for Parents/Caregivers" on Wednesday, May 20, from 6 to 7 p.m. Education Alliance specialist Tania Hollos will speak about how parents and caregivers may start difficult conversations with their children.

Story Time with Miss Pam will be offered on Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. Open to all children birth through kindergarten, the programs will feature stories, songs, and activities centered on "The Teddy Bears' Picnic."

Additional activities will include pinochle on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m., for adults, with no registration required; tai chi on Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m., for adults; and chess on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, for people of all ages.
