Library Posts Event Calendar

Kreutz Creek Public Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of programs and activities to the community. Programs are free, unless noted otherwise. Registration is required for most events. For details, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/hellam-kreutzcreek.

A Juneteenth Celebration presented by Community Progress Council will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, during a special Give Local York game night with the York Revolution. Fireworks will be presented by Give Local York. The library will receive a portion of each ticket purchased when people use the code KCLibrary when buying tickets to the game at http://www.yorkrevolution.com under the Tickets tab.

Digital Babies & Toddlers Story Time will be held via Zoom for children from birth to age 3 on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Digital Pre-School Story Times for children ages 3 to 5 will be on the YCL YouTube channel on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Monthly Grab & Go Activities for children ages 3 to 8 are available for pickup while supplies last. Crafts will be based on the SummerQuest 2021 theme, "Tails and Tales."

Several virtual programs will be offered to tweens ages 9 to 12 and teens ages 13 to 18. The Library Squad will meet on Tuesday, June 22, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. to shape library programming. Weekly Grab & Go activities for tweens ages 8 to 12 will feature cipher puzzles each week on Mondays.

Tiny Art for Teens will be offered from 2 to 3 p.m. on June 22 on YCL YouTube channel. Participants will receive instructions to create a seahorse under the sea. Supplies are included.

Teens are needed for Teen Project-Based Volunteering such as creating Instagram book reviews or planning a social justice project. For details, contact Jennifer at kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org or 717-252-4080.

An in-person Design Your Own T-Shirt event will be offered to people of all ages on Monday, June 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. Participants will create their own design and transfer it to a prewashed, 100% cotton T-shirt or pillowcase that they bring to the event.

A weekly Lego Challenge for children ages 6 to 12 will be held on Facebook. The program will meet from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, June 14 to 28.

Several virtual science programs will be offered for people of all ages. Virtual National Aquarium: Sharks!! will be offered on Thursday, June 17, via Zoom. A Virtual Leap Into Science will be held via Zoom on Fridays, June 18 and 25. Virtual Zoo America will take place on Thursday, June 24. All programs will run from 10 to 11 a.m.

A virtual Beverley Street String Band concert for the entire family will be held through the Susquehanna Folk Music Society (SFMS) via Zoom from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9.

Box and Spring will perform virtually via Zoom from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30. The SFMS will sponsor Songs, Crankies, and Appalachian Rhythm Toys featuring games and crafts with ordinary paper cups, moving panoramas (crankies), original and traditional songs about animals, and dancing.

Murder at the Library Virtual Book Club will meet on June 30 at 7 p.m. with Carter Wilson, author of "The Dead Husband." To register and receive the Zoom link, visit the library's website.

A donation box to support The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Fall Fabric and Craft Sale is available at the library. Donations of fabric, yarn, craft items, beads, patterns, and more are needed.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch support group will host a meeting in the upper pavilion in Emig Park, located on South Prospect Street in Hallam, at 5:30 p.m. on June 22.
