KCL Schedules Virtual Events

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of virtual programs to the community. Programs are free, but preregistration is required for most programs and to receive links to participate. For details and registration, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/events/2021-05.

The SummerQuest program's theme for York County Libraries is "Tails and Tales." Libraries will host events virtually and in-person. To explore events for all 13 libraries, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/SummerQuest. To be eligible for prizes, children and teens should register at http://www.yorklibraries.beanstack.org with their free library cards. Early online registration will begin on Saturday, May 16, and events will begin on Tuesday, June 1. Kreutz Creek Library will hold a virtual kickoff on Saturday, June 5, featuring the alpacas from Painted Spring Alpaca Farm.

Kreutz Creek Library will participate in Give Local York, a 24-hour online giving extravaganza, on Friday, May 7, from midnight to 11:59:59 p.m. Readers are asked to consider supporting the library through a donation at http://www.givelocalyork.org/organizations/kreutzcreeklibrary. In-person donations can also be made at Hallamshire Family Restaurant from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 7.

Several virtual story time programs will be offered. Family Story Times with Miss Kelly will be offered on Zoom on Mondays, May 3 to 17, at 6:30 p.m. Digital Babies and Toddlers Story Time for children from birth to age 3 will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays through May 25 on Facebook. Digital Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays through May 26 on Facebook.

Tween programs will be offered to youths ages 9 to 12 via Zoom. The Danger Club will meet on Tuesday, May 11, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The Library Squad will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25.

The Friends of KCL will host an online auction through Saturday, May 1, at 8 p.m. Readers may directly access the link to the auction site at http://www.facebook.com/KCLAuction2021 or under Events on Kreutz Creek Library's Facebook page.

"Stories of WWII Veterans From Europe and the Pacific" will be presented via Zoom by Joseph David Cress, award-winning journalist for the Sentinel newspaper in Carlisle. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24.

Murder at the Library, a virtual author event, will feature "Shanghai Secrets" by Sulari Gentill on May 26 at 7 p.m. Participants will visit online with the author during the event.
