Joel Reynolds, owner of Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., has retired after 40 years as a licensed funeral director in Quarryville.

Michael C. Miller, who has worked for the firm since 2008 and has been a partner in the business since 2016, completed the purchase of the business in August. Miller will be the third generation of ownership at the funeral home, which Ivan B. Dewald founded in 1966 at its current location at 227 W. Fourth St., Quarryville.

Miller; his wife, Kara; and their four sons reside in Quarryville.
