The Joy of Sweets and Treats is a new candy shop that opened on July 1 at 55 E. Main St. in Mount Joy. The family-owned and family-operated business is being run by Joy Helsel, a Mount Joy local. The family also owns Dave's Cleanouts and Collectibles, a pop culture store in Mount Joy.

Themed around the sweet things in life, the Joy of Sweets and Treats offers candy, snacks and food-themed gifts. The offerings are sourced nationwide from small manufacturers and distributors and include items for every consumer from halal and kosher to gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and vegan options.
