CCCBI Names Nonprofit of the Year

Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry (CCCBI) has named Camphill Soltane as its Nonprofit of the Year. The award, sponsored by Comcast, was designed to recognize the accomplishments and impact of a nonprofit in the community. Camphill Soltane was scheduled to be honored at CCCBI's Business Excellence Awards Luncheon.

Camphill Soltane is a Chester County nonprofit whose purpose is to empower adults with intellectual differences to create a bright future after high school, when they and their families may find themselves struggling to discover what to do next. For almost 40 years, Camphill Soltane has provided job training, employment, social engagement, and creative courses on a 50-acre campus in Glenmoore. The organization's programs include the Soltane Arts art studio; Soltane Horticulture, a large-scale growing initiative; Soltane Hospitality, offering professionally operated rental spaces; and Soltane Cafe in Phoenixville, run by adults with intellectual differences. Camphill Soltane's hope is that each of its community members will discover a fulfilling lifelong path full of purpose, belonging, and joy.

Krysta Knaster, executive director of Camphill Soltane, noted that membership in CCCBI has provided the nonprofit with new opportunities for connection, along with new employment pathways and enhanced visibility.
