Middle School Honors Students of the Month

Elizabethtown Area Middle School recognized its April Students of the Month, celebrating students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and personal growth.

Honored students included sixth-graders Owen Alleman, Brynn Baker, Anika Heistand, Parker Langan, Jack Mayhue, and Leighann Standhope; seventh-graders Alyson Ebersole, Joshua Laviena, Kate Miner, Spencer Schickling, MacKevin Towles, and Alycia Zamudio; and eighth-graders Clara Daily, Porter Fleming, Zoe Gomez Serrano, Alyssa Grifone, Connor Hein, and Isla Mayhue.

Each month, teachers reflect on the students in their teams through the lens of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," identifying those who exemplify a specific habit or who have shown meaningful growth in that area.

For April, the focus was on Habit Seven - Sharpen the Saw, which emphasizes the importance of self-care and personal growth. Students learned about maintaining balance and managing responsibilities while also prioritizing rest, wellness, relationships, and creativity.

The Student of the Month recognition program is part of the school's Leader in Me initiative, which promotes leadership development, positive relationships, and student ownership throughout the school year.
