Worship and community service event planned

Three local churches will hold a "Church Without Walls" worship service focusing on unity on Sunday, June 2, at the Elizabethtown Park amphitheater, 201 S. Mount Joy St., Elizabethtown. The organizers are Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ, Hope Community Church, and Saint Paul's Church of Elizabethtown.

The service will take place from 9 to 10:15 a.m., and attendees are advised to arrive early. Communion will be celebrated during the service, and the Scripture will be Ephesians 4:1-6. Activity bags will be available for children. Attendees should bring their own chair and water.

After the service, attendees may take part in service projects in the community from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. To sign up for a work project, visit https://tinyurl.com/ChurchWithoutWallsProjects.

Prayer for the community will occur at the park from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Group prayer will take place at the amphitheater, and handouts will provide prompts for individual prayer walks.

From 12:30 to 2 p.m., food trucks will be on-site to provide lunch. The trucks will include Piper Belle's BBQ, Taco RV, Nano Burger, Scott's Sourdough Pizza, Lori Funck's Funcky Candy X-press, Cool Summer Soft Serve Ice Cream, and Suzy Q's Espresso. Coffee, baked goods, and acai bowls will also be available. All park pavilions will be available for use.

In the case of rain, the service will take place in the auditorium at Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown, at 9 a.m. The work projects will be rescheduled, and the food truck portion of the event will be canceled.
