Woman's Club Plans Meeting

The Millersville Woman's Club will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville. Cathy Cieslinski from Project Lifesaver will be the presenter.

Project Lifesaver is a search-and-rescue program that aids individuals who wander as a result of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, developmental disabilities and other cognitive challenges. Project Lifesaver has more than 1,200 participating agencies in the U.S., Canada and Australia. This group provides equipment, training, certification and support to law enforcement, public safety organizations and community groups.

In Lancaster County, the Pilot Club of Lancaster works with local police departments to provide Project Lifesaver. People at risk of wandering wear a personalized transmitter 24/7; the transmitter is attached to the wrist or ankle and emits a signal on an individually assigned FM radio frequency. A handheld mobile locator tracking system is used to find any participant who has wandered.

All women in the area are invited to attend this program. For more information, call 717-917-6677 or 717-872-4834.
