VOCES8 to perform in Lancaster

The Grammy Award-nominated British vocal ensemble VOCES8 will bring its a cappella music to the Trust Performing Arts Center, 37 N. Market St., Lancaster, on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Since its inception in 2005, VOCES8 has performed at many notable venues in cities such as Berlin, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, and Mexico City. This season, the group will perform more than 100 concerts in the U.S. and United Kingdom, as well as across Europe, Australia, and Asia. The ensemble has collaborated in concert and in the recording studio with musicians such as Paul Simon, Christopher Tin, Eric Whitacre, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Orchestra.

VOCES8 is also passionate about music education. The VOCES8 Foundation engages with up to 40,000 people a year annually through workshops and masterclasses in London, and the VOCES8 Scholars initiative supports promising young singers through annual choral scholarships.

The group was founded by brothers Paul and Barnaby Smith. VOCES8's current members include Barnaby, Andrea Haines, Molly Noon, Katie Jeffries-Harris, Blake Morgan, Euan Williamson, Christopher Moore, and Dominic Carver.
