UZRC Plans Health Fair, Panel Event

United Zion Retirement Community (UZRC), 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, will kick off its Successful Aging Series with a health fair for seniors and their loved ones on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

This event will feature more than 20 stations highlighting community partners. Attendees will be offered free blood pressure screenings, balance checks and more, and there will be goodies to take home as well as giveaway drawings. United Zion's director of culinary services will offer a cooking demonstration at 1 p.m.

Community partners at the Successful Aging Health Fair will include A&E Audiology, Advocating 4 U Life Services, Aetna, Aevitas Law, Bellomo Associates, Caring Hospice, Continuous Home Care, Compassus, Grane Hospice, Hospice & Community Care, Landis at Home, Martin Foot & Ankle, Next Steps Insurance, Phoebe Pharmacy, Sloan's Manheim Pharmacy and Symbria Rehab.

All health fair attendees will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire as well as wear masks that cover the nose and mouth.

The Successful Aging Series will consist of events focused on educating older adults and their loved ones on topics that are important to the physical, mental and financial well-being of older adults. All events will be free and open to the public.

The next event will be a Financial Security and Advance Planning Panel on Tuesday, Sept. 13, with identical one-hour sessions at 2 and 7 p.m. Experts will discuss and answer questions on topics such as investment planning strategies as one ages, the important of living wills, how to go about estate planning and what to consider when planning one's legacy. The panel will include attorney Adrian Young from Ambassador Advisors; CPA Amanda Lehman from Trout, Ebersole and Groff; and financial adviser Bernie Bostwick from Ambassador Advisors.

The event is suitable both for older adults and their family members to attend. All attendees will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire as well as wear masks covering the nose and mouth.

Reservations are encouraged but not required, and those who make reservations may submit questions for the panel in advance. Also, all attendees will be entered in a drawing for a Visa gift card.
