Udder Bliss Creamery holds grand reopening

Udder Bliss Creamery, Elizabethtown, celebrated its grand reopening on June 7 with members of the Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce, Rep. Denise Grove and the Nagle family.

Udder Bliss, which offers fresh, handmade ice cream, reopened with five improvements, including more quality ingredients, new menu items, new local flavor collaborations, expanded hours and the offering of R&K Subs.

Owners Scott and Leah Nagle grew to love and appreciate the business when Leah became one of the main ice cream makers and part-time manager in 2020. When the former owners decided to sell, the Nagles jumped at the chance to take over the reins of this community sweet spot.

Leah reinvented the brand logo with a new cow named "Angela" last fall. The enhancements also included finding a non-GMO option for the dairy base, which came from South Mountain Creamery, a local dairy that was expanding its territory. The company's grass-fed non-GMO base was used in the Under Bliss Creamery recipe for chocolate and vanilla in a blind taste test, and it won. During that same tasting event, six new flavors were launched that highlight local businesses: bacon from Groff's Meats, Folklore Coffee & Company, sticky buns from Rise Bake Shoppe and Coffee Bar and Perisol's Nuts, which can be found at Root's Country Market.

Other ingredients such as flavorings and food colorings are now organic and natural and made with Green Mountain Flavors. Additions to the menu include affogato, which is an Italian dessert, and the hot chocolate float.

On Memorial Day, Udder Bliss Creamery opened for the first time at noon and began offering R&K Subs. Now guests can enjoy a meal with their hand-crafted creamery selections, daily from noon to 9 p.m., with the exception of Tuesdays.
