Trips to Creation Museum, Ark Encounter planned

As in previous years, Dayspring Christian Academy invites the public to participate in its annual Summer Family Trip to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Due to high levels of interest, two trips will be offered in 2023. The first trip will take place from Monday, June 26, to Friday, June 30. The second trip will take place from Monday, July 17, to Friday, July 21. Stops will include the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.; the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Ky.; the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh; the Cincinnati Zoo in Cincinnati, Ohio; and the Flight 93 Memorial in Stoystown. In addition, the trip will include teaching on the motorcoach.

The trip will be led by Dayspring teacher and science department chair Randy Gehman, who has studied the creation versus evolution debate for more than 40 years. Gehman has had the opportunity to speak to thousands of people in schools, in churches, and on retreats.

For many years, Dayspring students have had the opportunity to participate in a multi-day field study at the Carnegie Museum, the Creation Museum, and the Ark Encounter. This is a standing part of Dayspring Christian Academy's life science curriculum. Extending this opportunity to the community seemed a positive next step for the school. Gehman noted that the trip aims to increase participants' understanding of science and Scripture.

The trip is designed for people of middle school age and up, although children as young as 6 have attended. Prices per person include all hotels, motorcoach transportation, admissions to the attractions, and breakfasts.
