West Lampeter Township invites the community to its annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Village Park, 800 Village Road, Lampeter. The event will offer an evening of family-friendly fun featuring a Trunk or Treat, pumpkin carving and decorating, and the glowing Pumpkin Trail along the park's walking path.

Families are encouraged to come early - between 5 and 6 p.m. - to carve or decorate pumpkins at the amphitheater before the Trunk or Treat begins at 6 p.m.

This year's Fall Fest is a partnership between West Lampeter Township, the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA, and the Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer (LSYS) organization, along with other local groups and businesses.

"We're thrilled to be part of this event again and to help coordinate the Trunk or Treat," said Desi Mencarini of the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA. "It's a wonderful way for local families, boosters, and community groups to come together and celebrate the season. We'd love to see as many creative trunks as possible this year - anyone interested in setting one up can reach out to the Y for more information on how to sign up."

The Pumpkin Trail, organized by LSYS, invites families to display their carved or decorated pumpkins along the walking trail in Village Park, which will be lit at dusk for a festive autumn glow. John Fisher shared that the vision is to see the Pumpkin Trail one day span the entire walking path throughout the park. "It's a fun, creative activity that really brings the community together," he noted. "Everyone who visits the trail will have a chance to vote for their favorite pumpkin at the end."

Families are encouraged to bring their own pumpkins from home or come early to carve one at the event while supplies last. The township is also working with local businesses and farm markets to provide pumpkins at no cost to participants. Weis Markets has already donated toward the effort.

In addition to the Halloween fun at the Fall Fest, attendees will be able to enjoy music, food vendors, and plenty of opportunities for neighbors to connect and celebrate the season together.
