The Lititz Historical Foundation has organized two traditional Christmas-themed events to help kick off the holiday season. The annual Community Christmas Carol Sing and the Christmas Candlelight Tour are both planned for December.

The annual Community Christmas Carol Sing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. The Lititz Historical Foundation, in conjunction with the Lititz Moravian Archives, will hold the event at Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz. The free outdoor gathering will include the Moravian Trombone Choir playing while attendees engage in singing holiday classics.

The next evening, on Friday, Dec. 9, the Lititz Historical Foundation will hold its annual Christmas Candlelight Tour, which has been a tradition in Lititz for more than a decade. The 40-minute guided tour of the 1792 Johannes Mueller House, 145 E. Main St., Lititz, will include not only the story of Mueller and his family, but also the history and customs of the Moravian community of Lititz during the 18th century. Preregistration is required, and a nominal per-person fee is charged for each tour. Tours will take place every 20 minutes beginning at 5 p.m. The final tour will begin at 8:20 p.m. Groups will be limited to a maximum of eight persons. Registered guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their appointed time slot.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the Lititz Historical Foundation at 717-627-4636. There is a minimum credit card charge for phone orders. Tickets may also be purchased at the Lititz Museum and Gift Shop, located at 137 E. Main St., Lititz, on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Paid tickets may be picked up on the evening of the tour.
