The Torch sets January activities

The Torch Community Center, located in the Clock Tower Plaza, 2846 Main St., Morgantown, has announced upcoming programs for January. All programs are open to the public.

Christian acoustic open mic night hosted by the Roland Zimmerman family will be held on Sunday, Jan. 7. Musician signups will begin at 6:30 p.m., and performances will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Those interested in performing during open mic nights may visit www.facebook.com/ChristianOpenMic for complete details.

Worship and Prayer Tuesdays will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays in January. On Jan. 30, there will be a special meeting featuring evangelist Tracey Weiss.

Weiss will also present four Saturday sessions on Jan. 13 and 20 and Feb. 10 and 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required.

Pizza and Karaoke Nights will be offered at 6 p.m. on Thursdays in January. All are welcome to join the sing-along.

The following speakers will be featured on Fridays in January from 7 to 9 p.m.: Jan. 5, Nancy Miller; Jan. 12, pastors David and Yolanda Williams; Jan. 19, pastors Ramon and Gloria Torres; and Jan. 26, pastor Howard Jarrett.

Visitors to The Torch can enjoy fellowship and fun. The facility includes a pool table, a small kitchen area, a stage for performers, coffeehouse-style booths and sofas designed for conversation and a library featuring books for both adults and children.
