The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a program of United Way of Lancaster County, will offer tax preparation services free of charge to Lancaster County residents who make $70,000 or less per year.

New this year, a VITA location will be offered at 245 W. King St., Lancaster, to serve more Lancaster city residents with a more walkable option. The other in-person locations will include Alliance Church, 425 Cloverleaf Road, Elizabethtown; Elizabethtown College, 1 Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown; Ephrata Public Library, 560 S. Reading Road, Ephrata, in the Commons Building; The Factory Ministries, 3293 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise; and HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, in the Room 203 of the East Building.

Also, Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster; Millersville University, 43 E. Frederick St., Millersville, in Room 235 of McComsey Hall; Salem United Church of Christ, 324 Walnut St., Columbia, in the education building at the rear of the church; Salem United Methodist Church, 140 N. Penn St., Manheim; Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St., Lancaster; United Way of Lancaster County Corporate Office, 1910 Harrington Drive, Lancaster; and Quarryville Library Center, 357 Buck Road, Quarryville. Hours vary by location, but appointments can be made for day or evening hours on Mondays through Saturdays.

Those with income over $70,000 or who are unable to schedule an in-person appointment for any reason may still file their taxes through VITA online at https://myfreetaxes.com/.
