Summer Reading Program Posted

The Library System of Lancaster County, the local public libraries, and the Bookmobile have announced this year's countywide Summer Reading Program, "Unearth a Story." The program will take place in person and online from Saturday, June 6, to Saturday, Aug. 15.

The Summer Reading Program will invite children, teens, and families into local public libraries for reading, activities, and programs that focus on literacy; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); and creativity. The program is designed to help children maintain their reading skills over the summer, stay motivated to read, improve their self-confidence, and grow their love of reading and libraries. The Summer Reading Program supports Pennsylvania academic standards, Pennsylvania STEELS Standards, and early learning standards.

Starting on June 6, people from birth through age 19 may register for the program in person at their local library or at https://lancasterlibraries.beanstack.org/. For more information, contact a local public library or visit https://lancasterlibraries.org/srp/.

In addition to the Library System of Lancaster County, this year's local Summer Reading Program sponsors include M&T Charitable Foundation, Gallagher Insurance, and Magic & Wonder Dinner Theater.
