Summer Camps For Teens Set

Penn State Berks, Tulpehocken Road, Reading, will host in-person summer camps designed for middle and high school-age participants. The camps will be held on weekdays throughout July.

For middle school students, the college will offer several Black Rocket camps, all STEM related. These camps focus on esports, YouTube content creation, Roblox coding, and becoming an inventor. Meanwhile, fans of the '80s can enroll in Camp Know Where, loosely based on the show "Stranger Things." Budding writers can hone their skills in a writing camp with Penn State alumna and published children's book author Katarina Illona. Also, movie buffs can produce their own movies using an electronic tablet, their own props, and their imagination. Family members will be invited to sit back and enjoy the popcorn that comes with the showing of all the movies made during the camp week.

For students with an interest in health-related careers, there will be a one-day Health Careers Camp, where participants can interact with health care professionals followed by a hands-on activity. Mental health, dental, nursing, and occupational/physical therapy professionals will participate in this camp, and lunch is included in the registration fee.

High school camps include a Cyber Security Camp led by one of the college's security and risk analysis faculty members. The Engineering Camp - Racecars and Rockets will give participants the opportunity to design and build racecars and rockets for camp competition.

There is a per-person registration fee for each camp. For more information and a complete listing of all Penn State Berks summer camps, visit https://berks.psu.edu/ce/summer-camps.
