Students win manufacturing video contest

A team of Lower Dauphin Middle School students earned an award in a six-county contest sponsored by the state Manufacturers Resource Center.

The students - Andrew Bruno, Grayden Ford, Zachary Stump, Alexander Amici, Aidan Duignan, Alyssa Milsteen, Colton Neide, Ayla Treven, Bennett Sullivan and Max Horton - won the Outstanding Cool award in the contest for creating a video with a lot of personality and flair.

The "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" career awareness program seeks to help build a strong pipeline of technical talent and give students a new perspective on STEM career opportunities that exist at area manufacturing companies. The program is a student video contest. Student teams compete by creating short media stories featuring images of today's manufacturing and promoting their video to peers, parents, educators, and the community.

The Lower Dauphin team was sponsored by Dechert Dynamics Corporation in Palmyra. The team adviser is Michelle Kullman.
