Students to exhibit artwork at Lancaster museum

The Elizabethtown Area School District recently announced that students from the high school's Drawing III class have been given the opportunity to showcase their artwork at the Lancaster Museum of Art in April.

The collaboration between the high school art department and the museum marks an endeavor aimed at exploring symbolism and identity in art, inspired by the works of Lancaster native Charles Demuth. As part of the partnership, students delved into Demuth's collection, examining the symbolism embedded within his artwork. They were then challenged to reflect on aspects of their own identity and explore how these could be represented through symbols in their own artistic creations.

The opening reception for the exhibition is scheduled for Friday, April 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lancaster Museum of Art, 120 E. King St., Lancaster. This event is designed to provide the community with an opportunity to appreciate the artistic endeavors of Elizabethtown's youths.
