Students Of The Month Honored

Lower Dauphin High School seniors Paige Bitting and Max Klingensmith were recently named Students of the Month for December by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.

Paige is the daughter of Tracey and David Bitting. She is a four-year member and current captain on the field hockey team and is also a four-year player on the girls' lacrosse team. She has been active in Mini-THON for four years and is a committee chair this year. She is editor and a three-year member of the yearbook staff. Paige is a two-year member of the National Honor Society, English National Honor Society (ENHS) and National Science Honor Society (NSHS). She is also involved with the Volunteen club and is a mentor with Special Olympics. In the community, she volunteers with Lower Dauphin Youth Field Hockey and coaches in the Red Rose Field Hockey Camp. She plans to attend Duke University to continue her academic and field hockey careers.

Max is the son of Don and Jenn Klingensmith. He is a four-year member and current captain of both the football and wrestling teams. He is also a two-year member of the track and field team. He is active in Mini-THON and is participating in the Mister Mini-THON pageant this year. He is a two-year member of the ENHS and NSHS. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the History Honor Society and was a two-year member of the Spanish National Honor Society. He plans to attend either Penn State University or North Carolina State University to study biomedical engineering.
