Student Joins School Board

The Lower Dauphin Board of School Directors appointed high school junior Thomas "T.J." Fausnight to serve as associate student school board representative. The appointment was made on Oct. 18. T.J. will serve beside high school senior Sydnee Lynch, who has returned for a second year as student school board representative.

T.J. is the son of Joseph and Tracy Fausnight. He is a member of the Chamber Singers and has participated in the fall play, playing Juror 6 in "12 Angry Jurors," and in the spring musical, "Seussical," where he was one of the Hunches and was also a member of the Jungle of Nool. He is a member of the high school swim team and the National German Honor Society. In the community, he is active in Boy Scouts, community theater, swim club and his church. His future plans include a career in politics, law or theater.

Sydnee is the daughter of Alicia and Dave Lynch. She is president the debate team and vice president of Student Council. She also serves as a committee captain for Mini-THON and a leader in Class Council. Sydnee is a member of the varsity volleyball team, the National Science Honor Society and the National German Honor Society. In the community, she volunteers at a mentor with Lower Dauphin Communities That Care in the Study Buddies program and as a mentor in Club Ophelia. She is also active in Girl Scouts, where she received her Girl Scout Gold Award, and in Boy Scouts, where she is pursuing the Eagle Scout Award. Her future plans include attending the Wood Honors College at Shippensburg University and then joining the Peace Corps after graduation.
