Stockings For Soldiers initiative underway

For the 15th year, Blue Ridge Communications, in partnership with Keystone Military Families (KMF), is participating in the Stockings For Soldiers initiative.

Every year, KMF ships between 8,000 and 10,000 holiday stockings filled with donated food, hygiene products and other essentials to military personnel who cannot be with their loved ones.

KMF is focused on improving the packaging and shipping processes to reach as many troops as possible. All funds collected this year will help cover shipping costs and purchase additional items to include in the stockings.

Community members may give monetary donations using PayPal or a debit or credit card at http://www.brctv.com/stockingsforsoldiers. In addition, people may make a purchase through the Amazon KMF Wish List, which sends items directly to KMF's facility for easier and faster packaging. To access the wish list, visit http://www.brctv.com/blog/community and then select the blog article on Stockings For Soldiers. All donations should be made by Saturday, Nov. 30.
