St. James Church Plans Christmas Bazaar

The annual Christmas bazaar at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, will take place entirely in person and will open an hour earlier than in past years. The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Shoppers can expect a wide assortment of handmade crafts, wreaths, floral arrangements, and knitted items. In addition to a silent auction and basket giveaway drawings, there will be activities for people of all ages, including a white elephant sale, a bake sale, bingo for a nominal fee, a fish bowl activity, and a giveaway drawing for prizes. A children's workshop will be open on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with opportunities for make-and-take gingerbread houses, games, crafts, a model train, and pictures with Santa.

Many homemade food items will be available for eat-in or takeout. The St. James Cafe will be open on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. Pierogies made by parishioners will be available hot or in frozen dozens until sold out; quantities are limited. There is a price per dozen. Saturday's menu includes light breakfast options, soups made by parishioners, sandwiches, and salads for lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A ham and turkey buffet dinner will be served on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the Christmas bazaar will benefit the parish and the Homes for Haiti.
