The Hershey History Center, 40 Northeast Drive, Hershey, will host a program, "Navajo Rugs: A Connection to Mount Gretna" by Don "Stone" Kensinger, on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The program chronicles a cross-country adventure that began in 2012. Upon moving into their Mount Gretna cottage, Kensinger and his wife, Vicki, were gifted a Navajo weaving passed down through generations of the cottage's owners since the late 1800s. The item sparked a quest that connected the cottage's original owner, W. Theodore Wittman, to Mount Gretna and Kensinger's passion for the Dine people and their art.

Following the presentation, copies of Kensinger's book - "Weaving Passions: Journey from the Dinetah to the Little Red Cottage on Brown - Connecting the Threads of Navajo Rugs, Theo Wittman and Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania" - will be available for purchase. Hershey History Center members will receive a 10% discount on the book.

The presentation will be held in person, but a livestream option will be available. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to support future programming, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the organization's mission.
