Sip, Savor and Support Manheim

Come to the fourth annual Baron Brew Fest, and you can try samples of a variety of beverages, chow down on food from local vendors and enjoy live entertainment. You'll also support the Manheim community by attending the event, scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in Manheim's Market Square.

"Purchasing a ticket to the Baron Brew Fest is twofold," said Kristie Schmid, executive director of the Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting the event. "Ticket revenue is put right back into the Manheim community. But it's also a unique festival, unlike any other in the area. Unlimited samples are available, but ticketholders also have the opportunity to purchase products they like during the event. We have a convenient bottle check, so purchases are waiting for you on your way out of the event."

Vendors at the festival will spotlight local and regional beer, wine, cider, mead and spirits.

"Our vendor list is growing daily, including some vendors who are new to the event," Schmid said, sharing a special thank you to Manheim vendors Artifice Ales & Mead, Glasshouse Wineworks and Waltz Vineyards. Other participants will include Cartel Brewing & Blending, Shy Bear Brewing, Tall Pines Distillery and Thirsty Farmer Brew Works.

Two bands will provide live music, and Chamber members will offer a variety of food options. Confirmed food vendors so far include Gourmet Julie's Way, Radish, Spud Muffin and Walk-O Taco.

Proceeds from the Brew Fest benefit the Manheim community and are distributed through the Chamber.

"We are a nonprofit, and this is our only yearly fundraiser," Schmid said. "Our goal is to make an impact in the Manheim community as a whole, and these funds help us to do so. We put the funds towards town beautification - including several large-scale murals - community events, free programs for our members and daily Chamber operational costs."

Pleasant View Communities is the Presenting Sponsor for the Brew Fest.

Over the past few years, the Brew Fest has only gotten better and better, Schmid said.

"We strive to make the experience the best for our vendors and every ticketholder," she remarked. "Last year our crowd reached 1,500. Honestly, Market Square can hold significantly more than that, but we feel this size allows the vendors to do well if they choose to sell products and also allows our ticketholders to wait in minimal lines while sampling."

Schmid encourages people to purchase tickets early for the Brew Fest.

"We are excited to bring the community together for another fantastic year of the Baron Brew Fest," she said. "We're so grateful to everyone who supports this fundraising event - from our sponsors, vendors and volunteers to every ticketholder. Thank you!"
