Samuel Shefnie and Abigail Ritter have been selected as March's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Honorees are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Samuel, 18, is the son of Dereje Zewdu and Tsega Bekele of Mount Joy. Samuel has played soccer throughout high school and was recognized as a 2020 Second Team L-L League All-Star and a 2020 L-L League Academic All-Star. He is a two-year member of National Honor Society, where he currently serves as treasurer. He is also a member of Math Honor Society and Spanish Club. In the community, Samuel has volunteered through the Alliance Church of Elizabethtown. He plans to attend college to earn a computer science degree.

Abigail, 17, is the daughter of Benjamin and Stacie Ritter of Manheim. She has participated in Student Council, Aevidum, marching band, jazz band, and pit orchestra. Abigail is the 2020 homecoming queen. She has achieved first and second honors throughout high school. In the community, Abigail donates blood every eight weeks at Lancaster General Hospital. She plans to attend a four-year college to major in early childhood education.
