September Seniors of the Month Announced

Lucas Campbell and McKenna Watt have been selected as September's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School.

The Women's Club of Manheim sponsors the Girls of the Month, who are recognized at the club's meeting with a speaker, refreshments and a recognition gift. The Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Both students are invited to attend a luncheon at Pleasant View Town Square North held in the Hearth and Harrow dining room during the month they are chosen. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character and involvement within the school and community.

Lucas, 17, is the son of Jennifer and Nathan Campbell of Manheim. An accomplished musician, Lucas plays piano and drums and is a member of the school's marching band drumline. Lucas serves as captain of the Quiz Bowl Team and vice president of the National Spanish Honor Society. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and the National English Honor Society. In addition, Lucas is an Attollo Scholar and a graduate of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce's Discovering Paths program. Lucas participates in Interact Club, Spanish Club and remains active in Scouting America and his church youth group. Lucas plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a double major in international affairs and international business, with hopes of becoming a diplomat.

McKenna, 17, is the daughter of Tiffany Boose and Brandon Boose of Manheim. McKenna plays softball, is the president of the 2025-26 National Art Honors Society Chapter, a member of the National Honors Society, National English Honors Society, Interact club, Inscription Club, Book Olympics and Book Club. She received the Manheim Central Baron Spotlight award from the art department last spring. In addition, McKenna is a published author of two poems in the America Library of Poetry's 2024 student poetry collection. One of her poems, "A Boy's Heaven," will be featured in the 2025 student collection. As an Interact Club member, McKenna has volunteered at many community events at Pleasant View Communities, holidays at the Star Barn, the Manheim Farm Show, the Manheim Community Library, Blessings of Hope and the Baron's Elementary Child Watch program. McKenna plans to attend college and pursue a degree in creative writing and/or criminology, while also minoring in fine arts. McKenna hopes to be a writer and artist, as well as open her own bookstore.
