SALT Performing Arts, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs, will present Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Carousel" from Friday, Sept. 4, to Sunday, Sept. 20. Performances will take place on Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. The Sept. 4 opening night will include champagne, and dressy attire is requested.

Set in a New England seaside town, the musical follows charismatic carnival barker Billy Bigelow and mill worker Julie Jordan as they navigate love, hardship, and second chances. The show features songs such as "If I Loved You" and "You'll Never Walk Alone."

​The cast includes Natalie Schaffer as Julie Jordan, Kai Kasiguran as Billy Bigelow, Megan Lynn Schmid as Carrie Pipperidge, Maggie Riker as Nettie Fowler, Daniel Williams as Enoch Snow, Anthony Foley as Jigger Cragin, Lauren Rozensky Flanagan as Mrs. Mullin, Eloise McComas as the Starkeeper, Sophia Moran as Louise Bigelow, Gavin Vermeulen as Enoch Snow Jr., Gabriel Wochtl as the Carousel Boy, and Ron Hamaday as Mr. Bascombe and Dr. Seldon. "Carousel" is directed by Andy Patterson.

As part of a 10-year partnership with Chester County Food Bank, SALT will collect food for the food bank at every performance. Food in glass containers will not be accepted. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sale will be directly donated to the food bank.

Anyone who needs handicapped-accessible seating is advised to purchase tickets on a computer rather than a mobile device so they can select their own seats. They should choose seats in Row A and email jelliott@saltpa.com. The theater north entrance is handicapped-accessible, but the south entrance - which is the main entrance - is not.

The handicapped-accessible restrooms will be available before the show begins and at intermission. Anyone who requires restrooms mid-show should use the main lobby restrooms, which are located down the stairs at the rear of the theater space.

Once the show has begun, there will be limited opportunities to be seated by the ushers prior to intermission. Attendees are asked to arrive early enough to be seated before showtime.

All mainstage performances at SALT are immersive and sensory-rich experiences. The sound is often loud, and the lighting is dynamic. Audiences should expect water-based atmospheric haze, brief stroboscopic lighting, and sudden or loud sound effects.
