Russellville Grange awards scholarships

Russellville Grange No. 91 announced that three scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors from the Oxford Area School District, the Kennett Area School District and the Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS).

Abigail Bulfaro received a $500 scholarship. She graduated from Oxford Area High School and TCHS - Pennock's Bridge Campus. She will attend Delaware Valley University in the fall to study in the animal science/livestock science and management program.

Victoria Martinez Garcia received a $250 scholarship. She graduated from TCHS - Pennock's Bridge Campus and Kennett High School. She will attend Penn State Brandywine this fall in the College of Agricultural Sciences with the intended major of veterinary and biomedical sciences.

Jarleny Aguilar Acuna, who also received a $250 scholarship, graduated from TCHS - Pennock's Bridge Campus and Kennett High School. She will attend Penn State University Park to study in the College of Agricultural Sciences with an intended major of veterinary and biomedical sciences.

Russellville Grange offers a scholarship grant of up to $500 toward higher education for students who are planning to pursue a career in agriculture or an agriculture-related field such as consumer family science (CFS), farm animal veterinary care, nutrition or any other agricultural-related program.

The applicant must be a high school senior who attends Oxford Area High School, Octorara Junior-Senior High School, TCHS - Pennock's Bridge Campus or Avon Grove High School and be a student in good standing with his or her school's agricultural programs.

Selection is based on the applicant's record of scholastic achievement and extracurricular activities. Selection of the recipients is the responsibility of the Russellville Grange scholarship committee.
