Rotary Club recognizes students

Paradise Rotary Club has announced its Students of the Month for May. The honorees are Evan Zimmerman from Conestoga Valley High School and Grant Shaubach from Pequea Valley High School.

Evan is the son of Todd and Amber Zimmerman of Leola. He has been involved in the drama department since ninth grade, playing a lead role in this year's performance of "The Music Man." He has been a member of the varsity bowling team since his freshman year and plays recreational soccer. Evan is vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Students, the student manager of school tech team, and a member of Valley Vocals and the barbershop group. He has attended county choir and won state and national medals in TSA. He is involved at the LCC Men's Mentorship Program and volunteers at Grace Point Church of Paradise.

Grant is the son of Ryan and Heather Shaubach of Paradise. He is vice president of Varsity Club and a member of National Honor Society. He plays basketball and previously played soccer, football, and baseball. As a freshman, he won awards including an Athletic Award, Outstanding Achievement for Spanish, and Outstanding Achievement in Health and Physical Education. His sophomore-year awards included Outstanding Achievement in STEM, Outstanding School Citizenship, Pequea Valley School Board Learner Achievement Award, and the 2021 Pequea Valley Football Pride, Attitude, and Desire Award. He received honorable mention in football All-Stars.
