Rotary Club Donates Books For Children

Members of Rotary Club of Lancaster Penn Square presented new books for libraries in Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster's city clubhouses on Feb. 5.

Led by Kay McClenathan, volunteers raised funds and carefully selected books for the donation. Selections include "Yasmin the Super Hero" and "Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race," which reflect the diversity of children who attend programs at the club. Additionally, the books offer opportunities to explore the world and increase reading proficiency, noted Karen Schloer, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster.

The new books were to be installed in the libraries at the Southeast Clubhouse, 335 Dauphin St., and Jack Walker Clubhouse, 249 W. Lemon St. For information on how children can join the Boys & Girls Club for a nominal fee per year, readers may visit http://www.bgclanc.org.
