Restart Sportsman Banquets Will Feature Justin Gibbons

When Jaime Santiago, executive director and founder of Restart Training Center Ministry (RTCM), looks for speakers for his annual sportsman banquets, he often turns to attendees. "(Justin Gibbons) was referred by banquet attendee Ken Weaver," said Santiago, who reported that Gibbons is a devoted Christian with a ministry to hunters called Limitless Outdoors. "(Gibbons') goal is to enjoy God's creation while introducing people to the Creator of the outdoors," added Santiago.

Gibbons will speak at the seventh RTCM sportsman banquets at the Shady Maple Banquet Hall, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl, on Tuesday, March 22, and Wednesday, March 23. Each night, doors will open at 5 p.m., and the meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Gibbons is a married father of five children who serves as a pastor in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, near the Canadian border. Gibbons grew up hunting in the mountains near his home, where he enjoyed exploring the rugged areas of God's creation. In 2011, Gibbons began filming his hunts, and he now has more than 100 from around the world on video. His favorite hunts involve mule deer, elk, and Alaskan moose. His vision is to share the Gospel and victory of Jesus with the hunting community, and he is known for weaving exciting hunting stories together with Gospel truth in talks that are both engaging and challenging.

"(Gibbons) is a believer who supports the purpose of the event to raise funds for Restart to reach people for the Lord," explained Santiago. RTCM strives to help men who have been traumatized and who have turned to abusing chemicals or developed other kinds of addictions. The organization currently serves eight students with classes in life, social, and spiritual development. Presently, RTCM is working toward raising $25,000 to provide scholarships for students. In addition to Gibbons, Santiago will speak as will a graduate or current student of the program.

The banquets traditionally include auction items going up for live bids, along with a Chinese auction. Chinese auction items will include a muzzleloader, a TenPoint Turbo M1 bow, a 5-by-5-foot ground blind, and a Ravin R26 crossbow. Live auction items will include a deep sea fishing trip for six, a TenPoint Vapor crossbow with XERO scope, and a Puerto Rican meal for up to 10 people made by Jaime and his wife, Pam. The meal includes pork, rice, empanadas, and virgin piña coladas. Door prizes will include a rifle and a crossbow.

Tickets are required for individuals to attend the banquet. Seating is limited. The registration deadline is Monday, Feb. 28. To register, please call 717-304-3291 or email officemanager@restartministry.org. A freewill offering will be received at the event.
