Boscov's has officially opened registration for its largest annual fundraising event, Friends Helping Friends. During the one-day, in-store only event, Boscov's will offer significant discounts.

To participate in the event, customers will receive a Shopping Pass after donating a set amount to a partnering nonprofit organization; the nonprofit organization will keep 100% of the Shopping Pass donation proceeds.

Each year, more than 3,000 nonprofit organizations participate in the event, which raises more than $1 million in donations, according to Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO.

The Friends Helping Friends event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19, during store hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The shopping discount applies to in-store purchases only.

Participants may register to win a Boscov's gift card. There will be one winner per store.
