Reading of new play posted

The Lancaster Dramatists' Platform will present a reading of "Dead Inside," a new play by local playwright Gwen Tulin, on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room at the Lancaster city branch of Lancaster Public Library in Ewell Plaza, 151 N. Queen St. The event is hosted in partnership with Creative Works of Lancaster and Lancaster Public Library.

In the play, dual tragedy strikes, and suddenly Liza is a single parent to Fannie. When Fannie impulsively decides to run away, Liza follows her into a world where memories can be relived - and not everyone can return.

Tulin's play will be presented in the readers theater style with actors Libby Casey, Emily Hannon, Lady Strongman, Olivia Clay, Bailey Rose Collington, and Rachel Luann Strayer reading from the script.

Tulin is a theater person, writer, and teaching artist. She worked for 15 years in the Chicago theater scene as a music director, performer, and jack-of-all-trades. Since moving to Lancaster, Tulin has traveled to facilitate interdisciplinary theater workshops with actors and non-actors, including young people. Current projects include the original comedy cabaret "Florida Devereaux: the Revenge Tour"; the original musical "Galmore Gals," a Gilmore Girls parody; a mashup of "Scream" and "It's A Wonderful Life"; and various 10-minute plays.
