Program to Focus on Smart Glasses

VisionCorps will offer an audio webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Taylor Newswanger, VisionCorps' low vision occupational therapist and manager of therapy services, will present "Exploring Meta Glasses: More Than Meets the Eye."

Newswanger will share how Meta's smart glasses, which use artificial intelligence, can help people who are blind or have low vision. The glasses may provide more independence for these people, especially in environments that are not readily accessible, such as at restaurants and with printed materials. Newswanger will review the devices needed to use Meta glasses, everyday tasks they can help with, common voice commands, where to purchase them, and tips for getting started. VisionCorps recently received funding to help those with vision loss and limited income obtain access to Meta glasses.

The event is part of the VisionCorps Presents speaker series. It is free and open to the public. To make reservations, contact Caroline Gildea at 717-205-4104 or cgildea@visioncorps.net. To listen to the webinar, call 717-481-3841 and enter the access code 503417675#.
