Program to focus on health

The Friends of the Tanger Arboretum at LancasterHistory will launch their 2024 Nature Series with a program titled "Exploring Climate and Health" on Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at LancasterHistory, 230 N. President Ave., Lancaster. This session, featuring Dr. Alan Peterson, emeritus director of environmental and community medicine for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, will examine the recent shifts in the planet's climate and the effects on human and animal health.

Peterson, who has more than 50 years of experience in family medicine, will provide insights into how changes such as global warming, rising sea levels, and the spread of vector-borne diseases are impacting animal and human life spans and well-being. The presentation aims to educate individuals and motivate them to contribute positively to their environment to enhance the planet's health, their communities, and themselves.

The ticket fee will be discounted for people under 18. To register for the event or more information, visit http://www.lancasterhistory.org/events or call 717-392-4633.
