Program to feature B-24 navigator's war stories

The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will meet on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown. Yvonne Caputo from Erie will share stories of her father's World War II service as a B-24 navigator.

In her 2020 book, "Flying With Dad," Caputo charts the military service of her father, who went from repairing planes to being a B-24 navigator in World War II. Caputo shares how heavy German flak led to post-war nightmares and why her father experienced years of guilt after one particular bombing run over Unterschlauersbach, Germany.

The meeting is open to the public, and no registration is required. Additional information can be found at http://www.centralpaww2roundtable.org or join the livestream on the YouTube channel Central PA WWII Roundtable.
