The Hershey Area Playhouse, 830 Cherry Drive, will present "The Wedding Singer," based on the Adam Sandler movie of the same name and featuring a new score. The show will run from Thursday, July 14, to Sunday, July 24, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m.

Set in 1985, the show tells the story of rock star wannabe Robbie Hart, a wedding singer whose fiancee leaves him at the altar. He then meets Julia, a waitress who wins his affection but is already engaged to marry a Wall Street shark.

This show has the same directing and producing team as last year's sold-out "Rock of Ages." The director is Jasmine Ammons Bucher, recipient of a 2018 Tony Award Honorable Mention for Excellence in Theatre Education.
