Penn State to offer "Dining with Diabetes" series

Individuals who want to learn how to better manage diabetes can attend a series of in-person workshops being offered by Penn State Extension. The sessions will be held at the Penn State Extension Lebanon County office, 2120 Cornwall Road, Suite 1, Lebanon, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 22 and 29, and Nov. 5 and 19. A follow-up class will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. This course is being offered for a fee.

"Dining with Diabetes" is taught by Extension educators across Pennsylvania. The program is geared toward adults who have Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, have a family member with Type 2 diabetes or are at risk for developing diabetes.

Four consecutive classes will be held with a three-month follow-up. Each class will offer information to help people manage their diabetes, along with food demonstrations and physical activity suggestions.

Registrants are encouraged to attend all sessions in the series. Registration is required by Thursday, Oct. 17.

In addition to program booklets, participants will receive the "Dining with Diabetes" cookbook and course handouts.
