Penn Manor To Host Homecoming

Sixteen Penn Manor High School seniors are vying for the title of homecoming king and queen this year. Members of the homecoming court are raising money and collecting supplies for the Loft Community Partnership, which provides clothing, food, and household supplies to Penn Manor families in need.

During homecoming week, Penn Manor will host Fall Fest from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at Comet Field. Admission will be free, and the event will include food trucks, fireworks, cornhole, spike ball tournaments, bounce houses, children's games, a DJ, and stands selling Four Diamonds merchandise. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime of Penn Manor's homecoming football game against Cedar Crest on Friday, Oct. 22, at Millersville University's Biemesderfer Stadium. On Saturday, Oct. 23, the homecoming dance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on the top level of the high school parking garage.

Avery Groff, Ella Kratz, Nicole Lapp, Jesselin Lopez, Devyn Mauger, Riley Peart, Joy Perkins, and Lily Sugra are the candidates for homecoming queen. Ethan Adelman, Harrison Brown, Connor Brumbaugh, Zach Erb, Carter Harnish, Erik Hinkle, Charlie Gonzalez, and Noe Perez are vying for the title of homecoming king.

Avery Groff is the daughter of Brad and Brenda Groff of Lancaster. Avery is a member of the Penn Manor swim team, the York YMCA swim team, Comet Nation, the National Honor Society (NHS), and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). After high school, she plans to attend college and study finance.

Ella Kratz is the daughter of Phil and Jen Kratz of Millersville. Ella has been involved in Penn Manor girls' soccer, Student Council, NHS, and Mini-THON. After high school, she plans to attend Central Penn College to become a physical therapist assistant.

Nicole Lapp is the daughter of Robert and Erica Lapp of Lancaster. Nicole is a Student Ambassador and a member of the track and field and Unified Track and Field teams at Penn Manor. After high school, she plans to attend Bloomsburg University and major in health sciences and psychology.

Jesselin Lopez is the daughter of Jessica Ortiz and Will Lopez of Mountville. Jesselin is a member of the Scrubs Club, the Spike Ball Club, and Comet Nation. She plans to attend college.

Devyn Mauger is the daughter of Robert and Rebecca Mauger of Pequea. Devyn is a member of the girls' lacrosse team, Lanco Elite Travel Lacrosse, NHS, Mini-THON, and the varsity cheerleading squad. Devyn is also a junior coach for the Penn Manor Junior Comets and is a Comet Nation student representative. Devyn plans to attend Juniata College, where she will major in secondary math education and psychology and participate in athletics.

Riley Peart is the daughter of Kevin and Megan Peart of Lancaster. Riley is a member of the Student Ambassadors, NHS, Mini-THON, Student Council, and Comet Nation. She also plays on the basketball team. After high school, Riley plans to attend a university and major in biochemistry and public health.

Joy Perkins is the daughter of Larry and Mary Perkins of Lancaster. Joy is a senior class officer and member of NHS. She has been involved with Penn Manor Productions, Manor Singers, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, FCA, the Board Game Club, and the Spike Ball Club. After high school, she plans to attend college and major in occupational therapy.

Lily Sugra is the daughter of Chris and Jen Sugra of Millersville. Lily has participated in varsity soccer and basketball, Mini-THON, NHS, Comet Nation, and FCA. She plans to attend college.

Ethan Adelman is the son of Jared and Lori Adelman of Conestoga. Ethan participates in football, baseball, recreational basketball, and the Football Club at Penn Manor. He is interested in becoming an athletic trainer.

Harrison Brown is the son of Dan and Tina Brown of Millersville. Harrison participates in track and field, wrestling, Mini-THON, and Comet Nation. After high school, he plans to attend college and study business and sports medicine, with the goal of opening his own gym.

Connor Brumbaugh is the son of David and Leslie Brumbaugh of Lancaster. Connor participates in Mini-THON and lacrosse, and he was a Comet Boy and a Comet Nation leader. After high school, he plans to attend Albright College and play lacrosse.

Zach Erb is the son of Keith and Michelle Erb of Holtwood. He participates in varsity soccer, Young Life, FCA, and Comet Nation. Zach plans to study business at college.

Carter Harnish is the son of Kyle and Amanda Harnish of Washington Boro. Carter plays baseball at Penn Manor High School. After graduation, he plans to attend college.

Charlie Gonzalez is the son of Merida Gonzalez of Lancaster. Charlie plays football and lacrosse. After graduation, he plans to study criminal justice at Alvernia University.

Erik Hinkle is the son of Yon and Nichole Hinkle of Millersville. Erik plays football and lacrosse. After high school, he plans to attend college and study business.

Noe Perez is the son of Rosa Valdez and Rafael Perez of Lancaster. At Penn Manor, he participates in the Attollo program and is a member of the basketball team. After high school, Noe plans to major in education at Millersville University.
