Pathways Institute posts spring kickoff event

Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning invites the community to its spring 2024 kickoff event on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the High Foundation Auditorium at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz. This event marks the beginning of a new term filled with courses tailored for individuals age 55 and up.

Pathways Institute is dedicated to fostering a quest for lifelong learning that enriches the mind and spirit to pursue wisdom, service, and understanding. Programs are open to Landis Homes residents, affiliates, partners of Landis Communities, and individuals in the wider community.

The kickoff event is designed as an expo-style gathering, providing attendees with an opportunity to meet fellow lifelong learners and Pathways Institute instructors. The event will also feature the opening of an art exhibition in Crossings Gallery, curated by Pathways Institute instructor Mel Lehman. Attendees may enjoy artworks from various Middle Eastern countries.

No reservations are required for the kickoff event.

Copies of the spring 2024 course catalog will be available at the kickoff and online at http://www.thepathwaysinstitute.org starting Feb. 6. Individuals may also request a copy from the Pathways Institute office by contacting 717-381-3577 or pathways@landis.org.

The spring term will offer courses on diverse topics, such as Middle Eastern art, Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania Dutch country, Robert Frost's poetry, Native American sites in Lancaster County, life history interviewing, rock 'n' roll history and Revolutionary War history.

Members may register for courses beginning Wednesday, Feb. 7, and nonmembers may register starting Wednesday, Feb. 14. To register, visit http://www.thepathwaysinstitute.org/lancaster-county or call the Pathways Institute office at the aforementioned number.
