PASR Plans Retirement Fair

The Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) will hold a Public School Employees' Retirement Fair on Tuesday, March 8, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. This event is sponsored by the members of the Lancaster and Lebanon County chapters of PASR, and there is no charge to attend.

The event is for all employees of Pennsylvania's public schools who plan to retire this year or in the near future. People from school district positions at every level of employment are invited.

Those in attendance will be able to meet with representatives from several agencies whose services they may need in retirement. These agencies include the Health Options Program (HOP), a supplemental insurance plan; Davis Vision; United Concordia; Nationwide Financial Planning; and Grove Financial. PASR state representatives will share information about discounts on technology, amusement park tickets, pet insurance and more. Attendees can learn about how PSEA-R can help them to transition from PSEA. They can also speak to someone from PSERS and a travel agent who is closely associated with a local chapter of PASR. PASR offers both single-day and multi-day trips.

Local chapters of PASR also provide volunteer services to libraries, ESL classes, day care centers, backpack programs, summer lunch programs and other organizations and programs; raise money for scholarships; and stay in contact with older members who are unable to attend meetings and events.

Everyone in attendance at the retirement fair will be required to wear a face mask. Light snacks will be provided. Registration is requested before Monday, March 7. To register, email jeanlyoung@aol.com.
