Parkinson's wellness program posted

Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., Lititz, will offer PWR!Moves (Parkinson Wellness Recovery), a wellness program for people with Parkinson's disease, beginning in August. Taught by certified PWR!Moves Parkinson's coach Alicia Derr, the classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m.

Community members may try the class for free on Thursday, July 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. Caregivers are welcome to attend.

PWR!Moves group classes were developed by Dr. Becky Farley, a physical therapist, neuroscientist and Parkinson's exercise specialist. PWR!Moves provides functional training targeting the four foundational skills that most often become impaired in people with Parkinson's disease, interfering with everyday mobility. Classes are progressive and open to all Parkinson's disease community members.
